What is the difference between the MSc Accounting Programme at your University in comparison with accounting programmes at other universities?
Our Programme differs from other traditional Accounting Programmes. Our programme has two concentrations, Professional Accounting and Accounting Analytics. Students may enter into different subdivided fields according to their own interests and career plan.
At MSc in Accounting Programme, data analytics is integrated into the curriculum. The curriculum is tailor-made, and in a way, it combines academic rigor with practical learning. Our programme extends the invitation to both accounting and non-accounting majored students to apply.
Our programme aims to nurture business professionals who are capable of coping with the increasingly complex and global business environment. It is ideal for applicants who wish to pursue a career in accounting, finance, banking, consultancy and management industries.
*There maybe exception in practitioner workshops
Are there any summer pre-term (fundamental business) courses offered by the Programme?
We warmly welcome applicants from accounting and other non-accounting major background to study in our programme. We would offer 6 pre-term (fundamental business) courses for all officially enrolled students, 2 of the 6 pre-term courses will start at the end of July.
Can I fast-forward my study?
The normative study period for MSc in Accounting Programme is 24 months. The curriculum of our programme is rather rigorous. We suggest student with no accounting background to stick to the 24 months study plan. However, since our programme is credit-based, for students who are able to achieve minimum credit requirement on graduation, they would graduate within 12 - 18 months. However, it would be relatively intense.
Do you provide opportunities to exchange studies aboard?
Yes. All postgraduate students are able to apply to exchange programmes provided by the OAL (Overseas Academic Links) Department, normally in term 1/term 2 and exchange studies aboard in term 3/term 4. For student who wish to apply for exchange programmes, they are required to notify the programme to preserve their academic status at the school. Please visit the university official website for more information.
